Instagram has just announced that it will make live videos in its Instagram Stories section available to everyone worldwide next week. The feature was first launched in November last year to a select number of markets.

Instagram Live Stories is “a new way to connect with your friends and followers right now,” according to Instagram. The Facebook-owned company says you will be able to watch real-time makeup tutorials, live DJ sets, and lots of interesting videos from the people you follow.

The feature is quite easy to use, you simply need to swipe right from feed and choose Start Live Video in the camera section. When you’re done broadcasting the video, the live story will disappear from the app.

Instagram will show popular live broadcasts in the Explore section

Instagram introduced a Top Live feature in the Explore section, allowing users to see which live stories are broadcasting right now and check out the ones that have the most viewers. The new feature is being pushed to various platforms in stages, which means that it won’t reach everyone at the same time, so you would need to be patient.

The latest feature is only available in Instagram versions 10.0 and later, so you would need to update the app to the latest version when it’s available. With its 150 million daily users, Instagram’s new Live Stories feature will surely become very popular soon.

Instagram for iOS recently got an update with wide color and live photos support. Instagram users on iPhone can now post GIF animations to Instagram Stories and even convert Apple Live Photos into Boomerang, the mini-videos app by Instagram. Users can also view and capture a wider variety of hues in their photos and upload their own GIFs on the network. Instagram for Android and iOS was recently updated with the ability to save posts for later viewing.
