14 DAY TRIAL // Instagram announced that it officially brought a major update to its Android and iOS app, one that would allow users to share up to 10 pictures and videos per post. Followers will be able to scroll through the images in an easy way.
Instagram has just announced that it started the rollout of a major update that would allow people to share up to 10 pictures and videos in one single post. Previously, users could only share one image or video per post and needed to make multiple posts if they wanted to share their full experience.
The update allows users to combine up to 10 pictures and videos in one single post and swipe through to see them all. Instagram added a new icon in the upload screen, one that would allow users to select multiple pictures and videos.
The new feature is available on Android and iOS
The feature allows users to tap and hold images in order to set their order and arrange them in a certain way. There’s also the option to apply a filter to a single image or the whole batch of pictures that will be shared on Instagram.
The posts have a single caption and Instagram said that they’re square-only “for now,” which means that other modes will be introduced soon. The first picture or video of the post will be illustrated in a small icon on the profile grid.
The feed will feature blue dots at the bottom of posts with multiple videos or pictures, so that users would know that a whole batch of files was shared, not just one image. Users can like and comment on such posts just like they would do on regular posts.
The update is available for Instagram version 10.9 for iOS in the App Store and for Android on the Play store. Instagram actually started testing the new feature a few weeks ago and decided to start the global rollout with the latest update.
