Once the honeymoon phase was over, marriage was over

Actress Kaley Cuoco asked tennis player Ryan Sweeting to move in after the first date, and accepted his proposal after just 3 months of dating. Their marriage lasted for 21 months, but signs that it was doomed became obvious right after the honeymoon phase ended.

Cuoco filed for divorce last weekend, with court papers listing September 3 as the date of separation. They were “miserable” some time before that, People Magazine reports, citing sources close to “The Big Bang Theory” actress.

They were incompatible

Since their first months together, but particularly after their New Year’s Eve wedding, Kaley and Ryan were plagued by rumors of trouble. The relationship felt rushed, especially as it came just a few weeks after she’d broken up from “Man of Steel” star Henry Cavill, and as such, it was bound to end in a huge mess.

So when news broke of the divorce, few were surprised. Friends of the couple, for instance, had seen the split coming a mile away, because they’d seen Kaley and Ryan trying to make the relationship work, even after it became clear that it had no future.

“The few times Kaley and Ryan were out together recently, the tension was noticeable. You could tell the honeymoon phase had ended,” says a spy. “It seemed they were trying to work out their marriage by going on dates, but they both seemed miserable.”

The insider cites their incompatible personalities as the main reason why things didn’t work out: Kaley is a high-energy workaholic, while Ryan spent many months recovering from injuries and feeling down about his career.

A new chapter

Reports online say that the divorce will be quick and drama-free, because Kaley planned in advance and got a prenup one month before the nuptials. She made bank on “The Big Bang Theory” in the past couple of years, so a prenup was to be expected.

On Friday, she made her first public appearance since the split, partying out with girlfriends late at night. She also boasted on social media about the latest addition to her “family,” a new horse named Zaza.

The message is clear: she’s moving on with her life and she’s making sure the world sees she’s not pining for Ryan. The fact that she also removed every single trace of him from her social media accounts should serve the same purpose.
