With the increased number of attacks, companies have no other option but to turn their attention to internal security policies, with the hope to avoid future mishaps and losing credibility in the face of clients and partners alike.

We've all seen one or more security reports until now showcasing that most of the problems inside a company, even small ones, are mainly due to outdated views on security policies by people in high management positions.

This is still, in 2015, quite a problem. Fortunately, this is slowly changing and is changing in the right direction, with more companies putting the focus on improving their internal security policies.

With 80% of the world's data breaches occurring in the US, execs in this country are giving cyber-security a much closer look than ever before.

This is highlighted by an infographic put together by the Palo Alto Networks team, which shows that from 2012 to 2015, the management boards of companies in different fields of activity have started to address security issues and policies in more and more instances.

While in 2012 only 33% of surveyed companies took time to talk security in board meetings, in 2015, this percentage has almost doubled, with around 63% of respondents saying that this is regular topic on their board's agenda.

This and a few more interesting details are presented in the below infographic, which is based on the Governance of Cybersecurity 2015 Report, put together by Georgia Tech University, and sponsored by Palo Alto Networks, Forbes, and the Financial Services Roundtable.
