The development team at inXile and publisher Deep Silver announce that they have entered a deal for the distribution of the upcoming Wasteland 2.

The studio will be able to focus on creation, while the publisher manages the various backer rewards and the overall testing and distribution of the retail version of the game.

Brian Fargo, the chief executive officer of inXile Entertainment, states, “This has the added bonus of allowing us to spend more of the Kickstarter funds on development while continue to retain all ownership and control.”

All creative control for Wasteland 2 remains with inXile and the team says that it welcomes the fact that it no longer needs to deal with many administrative elements linked to the game.

DLC and expansion plans are also unaffected but some fans have already reacted negatively to the announcement in the Kickstarter comments.
