inPulse, the already rumored BlackBerry smartwatch, is now available for pre-order from Allerta Inc, the company that made the device. As reported before, Research In Motion was not the company to develop the new watch, and an intelligent consumer electronics start-up out of Waterloo, namely Allerta, has announced today that the inPulse wristwatch for BlackBerry is available for preorder.

At the same time, the company has also announced that the new device will start shipping sometime in February next year, and that it is priced at US $149. The watch, as many of you might already know, is using the Bluetooth capabilities of one's BlackBerry device to get incoming emails, text messages and other alerts, so that users are made aware of them.

Here's how the company describes the new device: “inPulse is the perfect BlackBerry smartphone accessory - it’s a watch that connects wirelessly to your phone by Bluetooth, instantly alerting you of incoming emails, SMS and calls. inPulse extends the functionality of your BlackBerry smartphone, so when you’re in a pinch you can check your inPulse instead of fumbling around with your phone.”

In other words, one can rest assured that all alerts are delivered with the inPulse wristwatch for BlackBerry. Users can easily check on incoming messages, emails and other alerts by taking a quick look at the watch, as the new messages are sent directly to inPulse. Users won't have to pull out the BlackBerry smartphone at all times to see who is sending messages, as they will learn this by taking a look at their inPulse watch.

The device comes with a 1.3-inch OLED display, has a full metal body, as well as a vibrating motor, not to mention a microUSB port and a rechargeable battery that can deliver up to four days of usage on a single charge. The information will be delivered to the watch as soon as a special application is installed on the device, yet one should note that the actual messages won't be sent on the watch.
