14 DAY TRIAL // A few months ago Russian company NIKITA Online and Bulgarian developer Imperia Online released the popular browser-based MMORTS Imperia Online on the GameXP web portal.
Today, one of the most prolific publishers and developers for Windows Phone platform, Game Troopers announced that the game is available for those who use Microsoft's mobile operating system.
Imperia Online is a strategy game that requires a lot of skill in order to be successful. Players start as emperors of a small Province and they will have to build up a strong empire if they are to survive the attacks of other players.
Players will be able to construct various buildings, which can be upgraded later on. There are economic and military buildings to choose from such as universities and barracks.
Another key aspect of the strategy game is recruiting and training military units, which allow players to attack other Provinces and pillage their resources.
The military units also serve as defense for when other players attack you. The game allows players to trade resources between them, but only after they build a marketplace on their own territory.
Full Xbox Live integration is included
It's unclear whether or not the game is cross-platform, but we do know for sure Imperia Online features Xbox Live integration.
In addition, players are offered the opportunity to earn gamescore and unlock special achievements while playing. Also, Live Tiles with details on market prices, fast research and bank deposit are included too.
Some in-game features like Wheel of Fortune and World Events are meant to spice up the players gameplay experience. Developers also promise they will apply “serious performance optimization on nearly all game stages.”
Last but not least, Imperia Online is supposed to work on any Windows Phone handset regardless of the hardware: “full device compatibility across all the hardware portfolio.”
