But that's not the only Android smartphone introduced by the Chinese company at IFA 2015 trade fair. Huawei G8 is another high-end phone that promises to offer decent enough specs in a stylish chassis.
The smartphone's metal body is certainly one of the reasons the G8 will cost more, but it surely is worth it for those who favor looks over specs.
Speaking of which, Huawei G8 will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, along with Emotion UI 3.1 on top of it.
The large 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass for better protection.
Metal body + large display = winning formula
On the inside, the smartphone is equipped with a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, which is complemented by an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.
This might be enough to justify the high price, but Huawei G8 also packs a more than decent 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, dual LED flash and OIS (optical image stabilization), as well as a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
The G8 packs a fingerprint sensor which is positioned on the back side, below the camera. The phone is only 7.5mm thin and weighs around 167 (battery included) mostly due to its full metal body.
Connectivity-wise, Huawei G8 offers 4G LTE support, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0, and GPS with AGPS support. Last but not least, the smartphone is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.
According to a new report, Huawei G8 will be available beginning this month in Austria, Burma, Italy, China, Spain, Hungary, Denmark, the Netherlands, Poland, and Turkey.
Customers will be able to order the G8 in Dark Silver, While or Gold color options. The smartphone has been priced at €400 ($450) outright.
