Renders imagine what the glossy iPhone 7 would look like

If you’re an Apple fanboy, you've probably heard that Apple is planning to offer two different black versions of the iPhone 7, one matte and one glossy, but given the CIA-like secrecy that Cupertino maintains when launching new products, nobody knows exactly what these new models are going to look like.

And yet, it’s not that hard to imagine a matte and a glossy black version, and some renders posted by applearab.com are trying to help us get a glimpse into the look of the new models.

Leaving aside all the other features of the iPhone 7 that we’ve overly discussed in the last few months, such as the dual-camera system on the Plus, the removal of the headphone jack, and the antenna lines placed at the top and the bottom of the device, there’s no doubt that the black colors really help set these models apart from the rest of the iPhones.

What about scratches?

Apple has been looking for ways to make a bigger difference between the old and the new iPhones, and while you can barely distinguish an iPhone 6s from a 6, the iPhone 7 will completely change that. While the design of the two generations will be largely the same, the new colors will make it very clear that it’s an iPhone 7, and not a 6 or a 6s, and there’s no doubt that buyers will like that.

The glossy version you see here and that, by the way, looks kind of cool, is expected to be offered only on the top-of-the-line iPhone 7, which kind of makes sense since it gives a more exquisite look to the device. And this way, it could help Apple sell more of those expensive iPhones and bring more people on the Plus.

The matte black version looks cool too, but the glossy is likely to be more appealing to buyers worldwide. The only thing buyers should be afraid of is scratches, but Apple probably had this in mind when choosing this finish for the new iPhone lineup.
