New leak shows the design of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus

The next-generation iPhone is expected to see daylight in September, and a new collection of photos claims to show both the 4.7-inch and the Plus models in all their glory.

The only problem is that these leaks not only confirm what we already knew about the iPhone 7, but they also reveal some other changes that could be made to the device, including something we’re very afraid of. But let’s take one thing at a time and see what this is all about.

The most obvious change is the new position of the antenna lines, which are no longer on the back of the iPhone, but at the top and bottom sides. And this shouldn’t actually be a problem, but according to this leak, Apple is planning to keep the antenna lines white, and not paint them in the color of the phone, which would actually contribute to a much sleeker look, very similar to what Samsung has done with the Galaxy S7.

No more silent/ring button?

Additionally, the Plus model (or the Pro as some people seem to call it more recently) comes with a Smart Connector, a feature that has been brought in discussion several times by other leaks too. Borrowed from the iPad Pro, the Smart Connector would allow the connection of several other accessories, including even a detachable keyboard for better productivity.

And what’s more surprising is that the Plus model comes without a silent/ring button, as the left side of the phone sports just two volume controllers. If Apple is indeed planning this change, it pretty much gets rid of one of the traditional features of the iPhone, and we’re pretty sure there are many people out there just like us who wouldn’t agree with this removal no matter what.

The dual-camera is indeed there, but it looks quite ugly, especially because of the huge bump, so the handset might seem a bit ridiculous when sitting on a desk, although we can’t yet comment on its capabilities since we’re still in the rumor stage.

Unfortunately, although the changes that Apple is planning on the iPhone 7 in terms of design might not be too significant, there are some tweaks here and there that are very likely to disappoint. And if this leak is real, Android has just got another user.
