As of today, anyone with a computer and a decent web browser can use Apple’s iWork suite online, for free.

Apple’s productivity apps – Keynote, Pages, and Numbers – are now available to anyone with an Apple ID and Safari 6.0.3 or later, Chrome 27.0.1 or later, and Internet Explorer 9.0.8 or later.

Users can now simply log into their iCloud account and access the web-based apps with a single click.

iWork for iCloud is still in beta and allows users to edit and save their documents online, on pretty much any device.

Future features and enhancements will include sending a link to a document; versioning (version history); chart editing; table editing in Pages and Keynote;  Presenter notes in Keynote; support for additional browsers; and printing.

With the iWork for iCloud initiative, it is quite possible that Apple will retract the paid version of its productivity suite from the market.

Visit iCloud.com with your Apple credentials in hand to access the online version of Keynote, Pages, and Numbers today.
