The latest Sketchy info comes from KGI's Ming-Chi Kuo

We don't even know for sure if Apple will only announce or talk about smartwatch-like device and an analyst is already talking about the specs of the next-generation device. Considering that KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has a rather positive track record, we can take the following in consideration, with a grain of salt.

Kuo revealed in his latest report that the iWatch would have internal storage. The smartwatch-like device can hold up to 8GB of data on its flash chip. As expected, some of that space will be taken by the OS and the native apps. The same report talks about 512 MB of RAM.

This may not be that far from the truth just because older iOS devices worked with that kind of RAM without hiccups. It is the same RAM a first-generation iPad used to have and that device is still usable today.

The new info may suggest one important thing: the iWatch can work by itself and does not need to be tethered to an iPhone to be like a notification type device only.

Imagine what you can do with 8GB of slash storage: you can pre-load thousands of songs, have pre-installed Maps, use the space for podcasts and other audio files, store pictures or other info you want to have handy.

The same analyst says the next-generation iWatch will come out in two different sizes. The screen for it will have, according to this report, a 1.3-inch and another 1.5-inch diagonal display. Apple may target, with different sizes, a male and a female audience. Kuo did not make anything of the other materials Apple may use for the body of the device, but he believes the gold color is here to stay.

And since Motorola has launched their own Moto 360 smartwatch today, featuring a round screen, Apple may take this the opposite way and launch a square screen device. The iWatch may be used for measuring fitness-related information like vital signs or the heart rate.

The same analyst is convinced the iWatch will only show up in stores in the first quarter of 2015. Apple is believed to show the smartwatch just because it's strictly connected to the iPhone and they want to make sure the customers will buy into the iPhone 6 and get the iWatch later.

All of this will be confirmed in just four days, when Apple holds their big event of the fall.
