iTunes will finally be available to the Japanese users, after a long series of negotiations that started in 2003 and seem to have finalized this month.
Apple managed to convince the Japanese that iTunes will not affect
the CD industry, but failed to maintain the pricing policy.
It seems users from Japan who will download their favorite music on the iPod won't pay 99 cents anymore, but 1.40 dollars.
According to Nihon Keizai, a Japanese magazine, the iTunes Japan as already the support of major companies like Toshiba-EMI, Columbia Music Entertainment Inc. and Avex Group Holdings Inc.
The magazine also relates that the only company which is not convinced is Sony Music Entertainment; we remind you that Sony has its own music download site, Sony Mora.
Unlike Sony Mora which has 200,000 titles, iTunes Japan will have a catalogue with 500,000 to 1 million titles.
