14 DAY TRIAL // "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is one of the highest praised action movies in 2014. The movie came out in theaters four months ago and now you can pre-order it on BluRay.
The big surprise came from iTunes. Apple's movie distribution service has the first hand on this one with an early release. The Blu-ray will come out in certain retail stores on September 9 for $27.99 (€21.10), but you can get it in iTunes right now for a special price.
The HD version of the movie can be purchased for $19.99 (€15.07), while the SD version can only be pre-ordered for $14.99 (€11.30) with a delivery date of September 9, 2014.
"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is Marvel's newest iteration of superhero movie. The iTunes ratings are close to a five out of five, while the Rotten Tomatoes ones are at 89 percent. The movie follows the story of Steve Rogers, AKA Captain America, a guy trying to adjust to a modern world and living quietly in Washington, D.C. He comes into action after he finds out that a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack. The movie has other Marvel heroes like the Back Widow and the Falcon and they all fight against their new enemy, a Soviet agent known as the Winter Soldier.
The iTunes package does not include just the movie, but some pretty good extras. First of all, the movie comes with three different trailers, each is about 2 minutes and 30 seconds long. After that, the users will get a short Teaser and a 4-minute featurette. There is also a Big Game Ad and a video about the villain in this movie.
iTunes users will also get a short video with the main characters working on a MacBook Pro displayed in an Apple store, and there's a funny bit of their interaction with an actor playing an Apple employee.
All of the above are free, but if you buy the movie in HD, you get into the real iTunes extra features. There are three main sections here: Trailer, Extra and Related. You will get a chance to see a 2:40 minutes gag reel, featurettes, deleted and extended scenes. You are also introduced to the Marvel universe where you can buy movies featuring the same actors, flicks other users have watched after this one, and extended commentaries from the actors and the director.
