If you're a student, then the iPod may help you or not in your daily university tasks, but I can't exactly say what the reality is.
I am a student only in theory at this time, and if I had an iPod with me at the university, I am sure I wouldn't pay attention to anything the teachers are saying there...but Apple thought of something really interesting to make your experience more pleasant or at least bearable, and this is the iTunes U.

iTunes U is a cross-platform multimedia distribution system for colleges and universities hosted by Apple that lets everyone access university related audio and video content freely. Obviously, you won't just download the content to your computer and keep it there, since you're going to use the iTunes application, but other podcast-capable programs are also supported, so the iPod and the Mac are also optional, but I think you'd better have them.

Now, what kind of content is available for Queen's University? Don't think about sex tapes, because you won't find such things here! After all, Queen's University is one of Canada's leading research intensive universities, and its 17 faculties and schools provide you enough recordings of lectures, convocation speakers, sporting events and archival materials that will fill your day (and hard drives, I could say) easily.

"Queen's on iTunes U is an amazing foundation from which we can share a seemingly limitless amount of university audio and video content," says Richard Seres, executive director of Marketing and Communications. "It not only allows us to share news and information across the campus, but also to show off Queen's to the world."

Student or not, are you ready to tune into Queen's University?
