The 'buy the upgrade' page only has an OK button

Has iTunes been bugging you lately? If so, don't worry because you're not alone. That doesn't solve the problem, but hey, at least you know you're not alone on this. More and more iPod touch users are reportedly hounded by a "buy the upgrade" page that only has an OK button, when connecting their iPods to iTunes for syncing.

"Yes, this is very true. You have to unplug your internet while plugging in an iPod Touch without the upgrade in order to not be hounded. It's a very annoying workaround really," posts a tuaw.com reader.

It could however be a problem only jailbroken users are experiencing. Going through the comments up on tuaw.com, I noticed that most hounded posters have jailbroken iPods. This doesn't indicate that Apple is onto hacked iPods, but it could be in some way related to the annoying prompt. Here are a couple of relevant posts:

--"I do have a jailbroken 1.1.3 and it gives the same nag screens. The nag screen makes it so you can no longer access sync settings anymore! I was so annoyed I did a reformat and now I can't even get back to 1.1.3 jailbreak and am returning the thing."

--"And crap like this is exactly why I haven't upgraded mine from 1.1.1 (jailbroken) yet."

Whether a non-jailbroken iPod touch enables users to check tick something or they just have to pay more attention to the on-screen information so they don't get bothered anymore, here's what another fellow posted: "I don't have the screen when I connect my iPod. If I remember correctly I just checked something so I wouldn't be bothered anymore." However, he added that his iPod was not jailbroken and that he was from Canada."

So, how about you? Any problems while trying to sync to iTunes?
