Krantz Media Group has confirmed plans to release the 'John Lennon: The Final Interview' radio special exclusively on iTunes, Apple’s proprietary digital media player application, used for playing and organizing digital content, as well as to browse and purchase music and movies from the iTunes Store. The downloadable interview will be available Tuesday, February 8th for $3.99, Krantz Media Group said.

“With approval from Yoko Ono, Krantz Media Group will release, ‘John Lennon: The Final Interview’ Radio Special, as an exclusive download, on Apple iTunes available Tuesday, February 8th, 2011,” the company stated today.

Krantz Media explains to those interested in listening to the special that the interview centers on Lennon's last radio interview, along with Yoko, recorded at The Dakota in New York City, only hours before the artist’s tragic death on December 8th, 1980.

It reportedly aired on over 150 radio stations worldwide this past December alone, commemorating the 30th anniversary of Lennon's death.

Dave Sholin, Laurie Kaye, Ron Hummel and Bert Keane (the original team that conducted the interview) have reportedly come together 30 years later to re-create this historic event.

In the interview, Sholin, Kaye, Hummel and Keane relay their own unique memories of that day.

These include the events leading up to the interview, meeting John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and a curb-side encounter with Mark David Chapman, the very person who gunned down Lennon later that night.

"This historic radio event celebrates the life and music of John Lennon, focusing on a truly joyous interview that was conducted as he was beginning a brand-new phase of his career," said Gary Krantz, president/CEO of Krantz Media Group.

"KMG is extremely excited to bring this rare and historic interview to consumers worldwide through an exclusive arrangement with iTunes," Krantz added.
