iOS developers will no longer be able to submit or update their App Store apps via the online iTunes Connect client, Apple informs. Instead, developers will be required to use the native Mac application called “Application Loader,” according to an email sent out to iOS programmers.

“Beginning July 22, you will need to use Application Loader to submit your binary to iTunes Connect,” Apple’s letter to iOS developers reads. “Binary uploads will no longer be accepted through the iTunes Connect interface on that date,” Apple adds, according to a screenshot published by 9to5Mac.

Apple continues to include information about the existing Application Loader, saying “[it] offers fast uploading, a more stable connection, and early validation warnings,” thus justifying its choice to drop iTunes Connect as the means of uploading binaries for iOS. “You can now also submit binaries that contain In App Purchase using Application Loader,” Apple adds. “Make sure the status of your app in iTunes Connect is Waiting for Upload before you submit your binary through the respective Application Loader,” the letter says.

Developers who have installed iPhone SDK 3.2 or later can access Application Loader from the Utilities folder (/Developer/Applications/Utilities/Application Loader.app), according to the Cupertino, California-based Mac maker. Devs can also download the software from iTunes Connect, while those who need to get some questions answered are advised to review a FAQ or use the Contact Us system implemented in iTunes Connect.

In related news, Apple has recently announced the availability of its iTunes Connect Mobile app. The mobile software is aimed at iOS developers looking to review their sales, watch trends, and build a strategy to ensure the success of their apps. In a separate announcement on the same day, Apple explained how to take full advantage of the Retina display on iPhone 4.
