14 DAY TRIAL // Apple has started offering an updated version of the iTunes Connect app for iDevices. Content sellers will notice a complete redesign with easier ways to manage their iTunes Store offerings, including the newly-added ability to access music, movies, and TV shows.
iTunes Connect is a platform designed by Apple for developers who are members of the iOS Developer Program and Mac Developer Program.
The product is mostly used to upload apps to the iTunes App Store and Mac App Store, but it also includes the necessary tools to edit descriptions and metadata, view finances earned, customer trends, etc. Apple also offers iTunes Connect as a means for book publishers to sell their books in the iBooks Store.
According to the release notes for version 3.0, “iTunes Connect has been completely redesigned to make it even easier to manage your products. In addition, you can now use the iTunes Connect app to access the music, movies, and TV shows you have made available on the iTunes Store.”
Apple has sent an email to content sellers to inform them that iTunes Connect 3.0 now works for music, movies, and TV shows.
“iTunes Connect for iOS isn’t just for app developers and book publishers anymore,” says the Mac maker. “You can now use iTunes Connect for iOS to access any of the content you’ve made available on the iTunes Store, iBooks Store, and App Store.”
You no longer need to get to a Mac or PC to log in and see the latest download trends for your content or read what customers are saying about your products. You can do all this now with the mobile app. Other perks include push notifications and an all-new design.
“Receive push notifications any time the status of your apps and books change during review. You can also be alerted when your products are ready for sale. [...] iTunes Connect for iOS has a completely new look and feel, bringing you the same elegant design that you have come to expect with iOS 7,” Apple says.
Available as a free download in the iTunes App Store for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, iTunes Connect 3.0 is localized in English only and requires iOS 7.0. Supported devices include iPhone 4 and newer, iPad 2 and newer, and the fifth-generation iPod touch.
