With one day left to go until the iPhone 3G launch, Apple has released iTunes 7.7. Available as a free download right HERE on Softpedia, iTunes 7.7 is specifically designed to work with iPhone / iPod touch software 2.0. As rumored, the new release also adds a Remote app that lets users control iTunes playback from anywhere around the house.

Seeded to developers on the night of June 26th, the iTunes 7.7 Read Me file contained some information about a certain Remote application for iPhone / iPod touch users that would be used to control the media player from anywhere in their home. The app is expected to be made available on the App Store as a free download. iTunes 7.7 includes this as a feature, which means you need to upgrade in order to use it.

"Use iTunes 7.7 to sync music, video, and more with iPhone 3G, and download applications from the iTunes Store exclusively designed for iPhone and iPod touch with software version 2.0 or later. Also use the new Remote application for iPhone or iPod touch to control iTunes playback from anywhere in your home - a free download from the App Store," says Apple.

iTunes 7.7 requirements call for:

- 500MHz G3 processor or better; - QuickTime 7.4.5 or later; - 256MB RAM; - Combo/SuperDrive to burn CDs; - Broadband Internet connection (DSL/Cable/LAN) for buying and streaming music.

Additional video requirements include 1GHz G4 processor or better, QuickTime 7.1.6 or later, and 16MB video RAM.

Soon enough, Apple will be releasing iPhone software 2.0, the new MobileMe service (replacing .Mac) which has push email, push calendars, push contacts, and bookmarks delivered over the air straight to your iPhone, and of course, the highly anticipated App Store.

Keep our eyes peeled for when they become available and we'll let you know when you can start using the services on your iPhone, iPhone 3G, or iPod touch.
