Ambrosia Software has recently updated its iToner application for the iPhone 1.1.3 firmware. The app allows you to transfer MP3, AAC, WAVE, or AIFF audio files to your iPhone and use them as ringtones. With simple drag, drop, and sync features, it's no effort at all. HERE, give it a shot!

iToner allows for ringtone transfer from a Mac (Mac OS X v10.4.10 or later) to an iPhone. Ambrosia's app supports AIF, AAC, MP3, and WAV files while users can set any tune as their ringtone for no additional charge. Now that the software supports 1.1.3 iPhones, it also comes in three different languages - German, French, and Italian. A number of bugs have also been squashed while intelligent audio processing has been added as well, according to the features list.

Drag, drop, and sync: iToner enables you to quickly transfer custom ringtones for your iPhone - without modifying, hacking or having to reset your iPhone. Simply drag and drop your MP3 or AAC audio files on iToner's window, click the Sync button, and you're done. Even better, your ringtones will continue to work with future iPhone OS updates!

Your iPhone. Customized: Your iPhone allows you to assign different ringtones for your different contacts. With iToner, now you can have a Barry White ringtone for when your girlfriend calls, Frank Zappa for when your college buddies ring you up, or the theme from Jaws for when your boss is calling.

But since we're on the music topic, why don't you also check out another app that actually lets you MAKE music on the iPhone. iAno is a virtual piano for your iPhone/iPod touch that sports actual animated piano keys reacting to your touch - "full 88 key piano keyboard with each key individually sampled in stereo from a grand piano," as Mister Aardvark (the developer) himself informs.

The man also claims that nice performances (by you) will be linked to his website. A drum pad application called "iThm," that allows drum samples to be triggered in real time, is also on its way from Mr. Aardvark. However, this one requires a jailbroken phone. Needless to say, Softpedia doesn't condone hacking or the use of a hacked iPhone. So, when I say "check out," I really mean "just have a look."

Back to iToner, the new version is now available for US$15. Early iTone adopters may upgrade to iToner 1.0.6 for free.
