Ambrosia Software has recently updated its iToner application for Mac. Currently at version 1.0.7, iToner enables users to turn any song from their Mac's library into a custom iPhone ringtone. The app costs 15 bucks to buy, while a 10-day, full-featured, free trial version is also available.

iToner allows iPhone users to transfer ringtones from a Mac (Mac OS X v10.4.10 or later) to an iPhone, free of charge. Just drag any of the tunes you have on your Mac and drop them inside your iPhone via iToner. It's as easy as that! Ambrosia's app supports AIF, AAC, MP3, and WAV files, while users can set any song as a ringtone for no additional charge. Starting with version 1.0.6 (updated to work under iPhone software 1.1.3), iToner also comes in three different languages - German, French, and Italian. A number of bugs were squashed lately, while intelligent audio processing has been added as well, according to the changelog.

The latest release, iToner 1.0.7, adds support for iPhone OS version 1.1.4. The update also fixes iTunes compatibility, meaning iToner should no longer prevent iTunes from removing iTMS ringtones.

Ambrosia claims it has also fixed a crash when syncing with iPod touch from iTunes. Various fixes and enhancements are also in order, the changelog says.

iToner enables you to quickly transfer custom ringtones on your iPhone - without modifying, hacking or having to reset your iPhone. You simply drag and drop your MP3 or AAC audio files on iToner's window, click the Sync button, and you're done. Ambrosia Software claims your ringtones will continue to work with future iPhone OS updates too. So, even though the app needs maintenance every once in a while, the tunes that make it on your device get to stay there.

iToner 1.0.7 is a free upgrade to registered users. Requirements call for Mac OS X 10.4.10 or later. iToner is a Universal Binary application - good for PowerPC and Intel-based machines.
