Techno Grafik has announced a new version of its iTaskX project management tool for Mac OS X. The company notes on its web site that one of the big changes occurring with iTaskX is better support of Microsoft Project files, which enables users to open native MS Project files or exchange data using the XML and MPX support of Microsoft's app. Exporting schedule info to iCal is possible now. There's more. A great piece of news for PPC-based Mac users is that iTaskX 2.5 is also a Universal Binary app now.

This complete project management solution for Mac OS X was designed to help users carry out large business projects, media activities or detailed time schedules. The program ensures an overview on the users' targets, dates, costs and the current status of their projects, as it adapts to their working processes.

"iTaskX has always provided the support you need for professional project management," says Techno Grafik. "Our latest version is even more powerful without sacrificing the simple and intuitive interface that helped make iTaskX such a success." The company adds: "Whether your job calls for managing large construction projects, sophisticated media activities or detailed time schedules, iTaskX 2 adapts to your needs. It can give you the complete story behind your tasks, dates and costs, or the big picture status on the overall project if that's what you need. iTaskX 2 helps you organize, monitor and administer your tasks so you can spend more time managing your projects and less time learning to use your project management software".

The developers of iTaskX also note that the software was especially designed with the Mac in mind, and is, in no way, a Windows port. Moreover, now that iTaskX adds seamless integration with Microsoft Project, "you will be successfully managing even the most complex projects in a fraction of the time it takes to do it with other products," Techno Grafik assures potential customers.

On its website, the company also outlines some of the main features of iTaskX 2.5. They include:

- Numerous customizable views for tasks and resources. - Customized calendars for tasks and resources including import of iCal calendars. - Definable text styles for all project tasks. - Splitting tasks. - Import of Resources from Address book, Directory server and Public Folders of Microsoft Exchange Servers. - iTaskX now also supports working with templates. - New import and export formats like MS Project XML, MPX, OPML, CVS, TXT... - Built-in graphic support. - Spotlight searching (Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger or 10.5 Leopard).

iTaskX is available for download HERE. By default, the application runs as "Unregistered Demo", which lets you use all the features of the program, but prevents you from saving or printing documents. To remove the limitations, you must buy a license or order an evaluation license for unrestricted testing. Users of a previous version of iTaskX can update to iTaskX 2.5 for free.
