14 DAY TRIAL // iStat Menus just got a major update recently, and Bjango is already patching some bugs. Besides delivering a number of code corrections, iStat Menus 3.01 adds battery monitoring of new Apple Wireless Keyboards, as well as a tweak for battery display. Last week, iStat Menus, the powerful monitoring tool for Mac-savvy users, reached version 3.0. Bjango announced at the time that it was on sale - $10. It still is. The new version delivered numerous new additions, enhancements, and bug fixes. Now, version 3.0.1 brings the following changes, according to Bjango:
- Improved translations. - Added battery monitoring of newer Apple Wireless Keyboards. - Fixed bug with fan speed menu not being in sync with prefs. - Fixed bug with fan speed being reset to default when power adapter is connected in some cases. - Fixed bug with fan speed not be set to custom setting after reboot. - Fixed crash in memory extra. - Fixed bugs with fuzzy clock in some languages. - Fixed bug with battery display incorrectly showing 100% in rare cases. - Fixed bug with “Edit Preferences” button not being hidden in Battery extra. - Fixed a bug where CPU pie chart didn’t respect the “Use black graphs and icons in menubar” setting. - Battery display can now be empty when “Customize menubar for different states” is enabled.
iStat Menus is one of the most popular monitoring tools for Mac OS X. Originally provided free of charge (when its maker was called iSlayer), it is a useful application that helps you monitor your system right from the menubar, offering eight menu extras that let you monitor every aspect of your system.
The software requires Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) or later. Unfortunately for Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) users, starting with version 2.0, iStat Menus takes full advantage of frameworks only found in Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.6, so it’s not supported.
