Crashes and other bugs have also been dealt with, Xnet says

Xnet Communications has released iSoftPhone version 2.2 for Mac. The VoIP telephony app is available as a free download to existing iSoftPhone users. iSoftPhone 2.2 adds both fixes and new features. A noteworthy addition is the Dock icon which lets users know when they've missed a call. Those looking to pick up on Xnet program starting now can visit the developer's web site ready to spend $35. A demo version of iSoftPhone is available right here.

A major crash was also resolved for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger users, who reported failures with iSoftPhone when calling from the iSP address book. Here are some SoftPhone 2.2 highlights, as far as fixes go:

- Crash under osx 10.4 when calling from iSP Address Book fixed; - Problem answering multiple incoming calls, when logged to a server with several accounts resolved; - Problem with sip.mujtelefon.cz fixed; - Problem with sip.mcm.net.mx fixed;

Another new feature available with the latest version of iSoftPhone is the prompt before quitting, when using Cmd + Q.

iSoftPhone also allows users to make calls directly from Daylite CRM (not a new feature with v2.2). The program checks incoming calls to match the number with a name in Daylite and displays names of Daylite contacts. New contacts may be added to the address book and synchronized with Daylite after the call. To make a call with Daylite, users just have to select the contact and click on the dial button.

It is believed that one of the least expensive solutions for creating your own telephone network is the Virtual PBX. Virtual PBX elliminates the need for expensive hardware and a team of network engineers to maintain it, Xnet notes. As such, iSoftPhone can be easily configured to work with auto attendants, voice-mail, unified messaging and find-me-follow-me capability.

So, what do you think, is iSoftPhone worth your (and your Mac's) attention?
