Good old Reuters seems to be providing the final confirmation that Apple will indeed push out iRadio at its developer event next week. It also says the service will serve audio ads and banners via Apple’s iAd network.

Attempting to unleash a highly competitive music streaming service that will give products like Pandora a run for their money, Apple next week will reportedly unveil “iRadio,” a music distribution platform.

“The iPhone maker, which has been working to put together a streaming music service for the past year, has contacted some of its bigger advertisers but hasn't started selling the service extensively yet,” Reuters reports, citing one of the people who is “familiar with the plan.”

The sources said iRadio would resemble Pandora, as in “It will feature audio and banner ads sold through Apple's iAd mobile network.”

WWDC is set to kick off with a keynote address Monday, June 10. At the event, Apple is expected to also unveil iOS 7 and a new version of OS X.
