I don't know what Steve Jobs is planning to add to the new player, but certainly, according to some analysts, he should come out and announce that the next generation of iPod will be able to play video files.
Although Steve Jobs has announced that making the iPod capable of playing video files is not among
its plans, Apple's every action is intensively studied to find out if there is a hidden clue pointing out the opposite.
Recently, two financial analysts from UBS Investment Research have discovered that Apple is carefully monitoring the public's opinion on the PSP PlayStation Portable console. Sony's console can play movies stored in the proprietary format Universal Media Disc.
The analysts went even further with speculations, saying that a multimedia iPod could integrate a similar display to the one of the PSP and its price could reach 500 dollars.
The launching date for such an iPod can only be 2006 and perhaps more information will be available in the winter holidays.
Obviously, the next step would be the creation of a iTunes service for movies, which will be launched by the end of 2006.
But since Apple didn't make any official comments about such an iPod, the paradise of speculations is still open.
