iPod Nano Scratches Lead to Law Suit

- And it has been only a month...

By: Alex Andreescu, Mac Editor

We have already talked about the problems iPod Nano has
been facing due to the great number of scratches which surfaced only a few weeks after the initial launch of the tiny player.

The mixture of sleek design and functionality hasn't struck gold this time and Apple is now facing a class action suit on behalf of those who have purchased the iPod Nano.

Instead of being praised for another great innovation for the digital entertainment industry, Apple will have to deal now with charges of violating state consumer protection statutes and implied warranties.
It is said that Apple was aware of the design problems with the Nano and decided to launch it nevertheless.

Apple representatives refused to comment on these charges, but they did acknowledge that the material used to produce the chasis of the Nano is the same polycarbonate material found in other iPod models. They have also said that the excessive scratching issue isn't widespread and it only refers to a few isolated mishaps.

iPod Nano Scratches Lead to Law Suit - USER OPINIONS

Ipod Nana is very attractive at first sight, but it is a stragedy after owning it for few days. At first the scratches will make its owners become annoyed and worse, frustrated and hopeless if its screen cracks. This just happen quickly after a few weeks used. As its sillicon protector is too soft that it can't protect the internal screen. Evidently that you can find the inside screen cracks, but the protector outside isn't damaged. In here, Thailand, we can't have a replacement or fixed if the screen cracks or the protector scratches. Such a big disappointed with the newly irriresposible product and its manufacture. The law suit is a must lesson to teach the irresponbsible Ipod manufacturer who is avoiding their responsibility and ignoring to their defective products. Only a win suit will protect and send a strong message to them that we are consumers have the right to have a right product!
