Apple has recently confirmed the introduction of the Pink iPod nano, a product that's seen demand as high as the universe can expand itself. The most popular music player in the world now comes with a stylish, sleek pink front plate, keeping the same all-metal design made with anodized aluminum and polished stainless steel. The new pink iPod nano is already available in an 8GB model that goes for $199.

Naturally, all other features have stayed in place: two-inch display, 24 hours of audio playback or five hours of video playback. Also, the user interface shows off album artwork and photos, including Cover Flow, which you can use to scroll through your entire music collection by just a touch of the Click Wheel.

"Customers are going to love the gorgeous new pink iPod nano," said Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of Worldwide iPod Product Marketing. "The pink iPod nano is perfect for people who want a great new color this spring, or who are searching for a special Valentine's Day gift."

The new device joins its 8GB silver, black, blue and green counterparts and of course the Red Special Edition. Both the 4GB and 8GB iPod nanos are available online through the Apple Store, as the electronics giant confirms, while Apple's retail stores and Authorized Resellers also have it in stock. Just as with other models of the iPod nano, the new pink unit includes earbud headphones, a USB to 30-pin cable and a Universal Dock Connector.

The requirements for the new iPod nano model are: a Mac with a USB 2.0 port, Mac OS X v10.4.9 or later and iTunes 7.6; or a Windows PC with a USB 2.0 port and Windows Vista or Windows XP Home or Professional (Service Pack 2) or later and iTunes 7.6.

Internet access is of course a must, while the recommended broadband connection still applies. Fees may also be in order.
