Don't flush your iPod...

The widespread love for iPods has made them present everywhere, but sometimes, they make the headlines in a less than ideal way, usually for causing trouble. Such is the story of this iPod.

The culprit was a pink mini iPod which, after having been accidentally flushed down the toilet at the Santa Clara University, has been causing problems for the last few months, and proven to be the source of major headaches for maintenance workers.

The problematic iPod got stuck in such a way that made it impossible to remove. Initially, the workers tried to get rid of it by breaking it into pieces, but this failed miserably as the iPod refused to break? one maintenance worker even went as far as saying the thing was 'indestructible.'

After breaking it was crossed off as an option, an independent contractor was called in, and managed to get the iPod to move 20 feet only to have it become stuck again. In order to get it moving again, crews simultaneously flushed as many toilets as they could and they turned on every sink. The resulting surge of water pushed it into a larger more accessible pipe.

At this point a water company was hired to blast water into the pipe in yet another attempt to get the iPod out of the pipe. This effort paid off, but also had the side effect of causing geysers to burst from the second floor toilets. The entire affair cost the university $1,000 a week and lasted several months? it seems that the iPod toilet paper holder dock is not such a bad idea after all.
