The war between Android and iPhone turns violent

It seems like iOS and Android fans have been debating which mobile operating system is better since the dawn of time. We've seen it here at Softpedia in our comment section, and this topic is hotly discussed in tech circles all around the world, but not only. Sometimes, name calling or acid ironies are also being thrown in the mix, but only for the sake of argument.

But nothing prepared us for the story we’re going to tell you in what follows. As KTUL reports, two men who were sharing an apartment in Tulsa, Oklahoma, got into a fight over which mobile operating system was the better choice - iOS or Android.

Nothing out of the ordinary here - we’re sure you had a quarrel or two about the perks of Android and how these features can’t be found in iOS with your best friend too.

But in this scenario, a seemingly innocent argument resulted into a violent outbreak. As the local Tusla station informs, police responded today to reports of an altercation gone wrong.

Roommates stab each other trying to decide if Android or iOS is better

By the looks of things, the two roommates had been drinking together, and at some point, they took up discussing technology. An argument soon broke out and one of the men involved in the quarrel took a bottle of beer and smashed it off his friend's head.

The two men were eventually rushed to the hospital where they received treatment for their wounds. The police didn't comment on whether charges would be filled against the two tech enthusiasts.

The incident is pretty tragic, as it highlights that certain individuals aren't capable of valuing human life at all and would take one without blinking just to prove a virtually unimportant point like “iOS is snappier than Android.”

Nevertheless, the story reminds us of Microsoft’s “Don’t Fight” commercial, which makes a mockery of both Android and iOS. In it, users of the two platforms present at a wedding are drawn into a violent physical altercation after an attendee asks another guest to move their “ginormous” phone (he’s referring to a Samsung Galaxy phone).
