Apple's Special event planned for the 5th of September has stirred the rumor mill as usual, but despite Apple rumors being what they are, this time there is plenty for them to feed on. The iPod nano leaks started a wildfire and the fact that Apple was quick to force images and videos off sites did
nothing but authenticate the leaked information. Tacit confirmation of the iPod nano rumors naturally extended to those about the other iPod models and this cycle continues.

It's not just the regular rumor sites that are contributing to the frenzy, everybody is joining in. The Washington Post has just published a report based on documents that they claim to have obtained from an Apple partner, documents that once again confirm rumors of the next generation of iPod, but also mention another much anticipated product the iPhone nano.
Rumors about the iPhone nano died down, but they are now coming back with a vengeance. Besides having a lower price point than the first generation iPhones, which remains one of the key reasons why many are not buying the current model, the report gives several telling details about how the device will actually work.

The iPhone nano is expected to be significantly smaller and make use of technologies specifically designed for its size. These would include click-wheel dialing, likely in a manner that is similar to the rotor phones of old, as well as a backside touchpad, which was first detailed in an Apple patent some time ago. Both these technologies, besides making a smaller iPhone practical, would make the experience of using an iPhone nano quite unique.

Unfortunately, while all these rumors are good for giving Apple free publicity and stirring up hype, they also have a negative effect on the company. Apple is expected to unveil any number of new, cool products and services tomorrow and should what they actually come out with fail to meet the hype, their stock stands to tank once again.
