This week, German wireless carrier T-Mobile has lost the exclusivity

on the iPhone distribution in the country, and two new operators started selling the device for their customers too, namely O2 and Vodafone.

The move follows several years of exclusivity that T-Mobile had on iPhone's distribution to German users, and is yet another step Apple took towards offering a wider range of people the possibility to enjoy its iconic device.

Long story short, ever since last year, Apple started to make the iPhone available in various markets around the world via more than one local operator, putting an end to the exclusivity deals it signed with these wireless services providers.

Starting with Wednesday, users on the German market can get the Apple iPhone from O2 and Vodafone too, with various offerings in place for them.

The two carriers added both the iPhone 4 to their lineup, as well as the iPhone 3GS (8 GB) model, and offer their users the possibility to purchase the device either on contract or without, and with various plan options included into the mix.

Those who would like to purchase the iPhone from O2 would find it available on the wireless carrier's website here.

The company has the iPhone 3GS (8 GB) available at €49, iPhone 4 (16 GB) priced at €119, and the iPhone 4 (32 GB) priced at €249, with a contract agreement attached.

If purchase free of contract, the iPhone 3GS (8 GB) costs €529 at the carrier, iPhone 4 (16 GB) goes for €649, while the iPhone 4 (32 GB) is priced at €769.

As for Vodafone, it lists all three models on its website here, priced at €49,90, for the iPhone 3GS (8 GB), €99,90, for the iPhone 4 (16 GB) model, and €199,90 for the iPhone 4 (32 GB) version.

At the same time, as should note that Apple too has the iPhone available for purchase in Germany via its own store, and that it sells the device unlocked, so that customers can use it on the network of their choice.

If purchased from Apple's online store, the iPhone 4 16GB and 32GB models cost €629 (around $866) and €739 (about $1017) respectively, while the iPhone 3GS 8GB model goes for €519 (around $715).

It appears that users interested in the purchase of a new iPhone model straight from Apple can do so from one of its four German retail stores.
