Apple and AT&T have closed a deal that will make iPhone unavailable for GSM networks for the next 5 years.

iPhone is one of the most expected mobile phones at the time. The world has went up into flames debating whether this device will finally prove a success or not. Still, it will not be set clear until the phone will actually be released and people will have the possibility of holding it in their hands and testing its true worth.

Unfortunately, for many people, the iPhone will be available only for GSM, as a result of AT&T's preferences. Things would have been just the other way around if Apple had signed a deal with Verizon instead of AT&T. Still, Apple changed their mind and, with this, increased the chances for having a CDMA-free iPhone.

As a result of this, for the American and Asian users the iPhone will be off-limits. The only chance for changing this would be to make other versions of the iPhone available to other networks too, including the CDMA one.

Apple has decided that AT&T will be the only carrier for the iPhone over the next 60 months. That is a long time of restricting sales of this long expected mobile phone only to GSM.

Apple's only phone includes a 3.5 inch touchscreen and offers a wide range of innovative features when it comes to music, audiobooks, TV shows and movies. Moreover, it supports email, widgets, Wi-fi and EDGE services at top quality.

The iPhone has been announced for release in June, but no specific date has yet been revealed. Most debates have been generated by the high price that these devices will come for. Depending on the memory capacity, which can go from 4GB to 8GB, the iPhone will cost USD499 or USD599.
