Canon USA has announced the WU10 Wireless Adapter and Battery Pack, as well as the CaptureOnTouch app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The tools are designed to be used with imageFORMULA mobile document scanners. The makers say the WU10 Wireless Adapter and Battery Pack will easily attach to the imageFORMULA Scan-tini (P-150 and P-215 models), creating a wireless connection.
The purpose is to reduce cable clutter and make sharing easy. The WU10 can deliver enough power to scan hundreds of images on a single charge, according to Canon USA.
The CaptureOnTouch app allows users to scan, save, and send paper-based information to cloud services. It supports any iDevice that can handle iOS 4.3 or later.
The WU10 Wireless Adapter and Battery Pack is immediately available from Canon resellers worldwide. The asking price is $169, or roughly €128.
