Denver resident Mike Wilson was a passenger on Continental Airline’s flight 737 in route to Houston, Texas, Saturday evening. At one point, the plane skidded off the runway crashing into a ravine and immediately catching fire. Wilson escaped the flames and used his iPhone to post details and pictures as he was still on the scene of the crash.

An iPhone Savior report mentions that at least 38 passengers were taken to hospitals. Luckily, no one died. Reportedly, the source notes, five crew members along with the 110 passengers were evacuated on the plane's emergency slides. Among the 110 was iPhone user Mike Wilson, who evacuated the plane and immediately enlisted his iPhone describing the hell he had just been through.

Those who followed “2drinksbehind” on Twitter could read the following message moments after Mike had cleared the wreckage: “Holy f--king s--t - I was just in a plane crash!” - 5:25 PM Dec 20th, from twitterrific. Wilson was also able to snap a photo of the downed plane, once outside.

“Ugh ... My glasses fell off in the mass exodus getting off the plane. Can't see very well,” another post reads. Despite the frightful experience, Wilson didn't lose his temper, or his sense of humor, as his following Twitter post shows, “This was crash #2 for me. Maybe I should start taking the bus.”

Unsurprisingly, the media made headlines around the globe, which resulted in Mike being the first citizen journalist to post live to Twitter from the scene of a plane crash. We can only assume how much the iPhone should be credited here, as a device suitable to use in any situation.

Before signing off, Wilson leaves one final message on Twitter, “Going to bed. Today was exhausting. More interviews tomorrow. I'm very grateful to still be here.... I'm amazed and humbled by it all.” He ends his message by thanking other Twitter users for their concern and support.
