Readdle has confirmed the upcoming release of a full featured book and document reader for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The app is said to run natively on firmware 2.0-enabled iPhones and Touches, enhancing the now-web-based service's functionality with seamless storage, page-by-page reading, bookmarks, and optimized PDF rendering. The upcoming iPhone application will enable
users to view documents with no live Internet connection. Using ReaddleUp (a free app for Mac), users will be able to upload new files to their accounts even faster.

A notable feature of Readdle's application is that it interfaces with the iPhone's Mail client to display
read documents, and it even supports email forwarding complete with attachments. This feature is "indispensable", Readdle claims, as there is no possibility to save attachments to the iPhone.

In the simplest words possible, Readdle is a web-based service that allows you to upload books and documents to its online storage and then view or share them using your iPhone or iPod touch. Users must create a special Safari bookmark of the opened file that enables them read it later even without live Internet connection. The only limitation for this feature is that the document size must be less than 100 KB.

However, Readdle is a web-based application. While it allows transferring, organizing and viewing documents on the iPhone / iPod touch, ReaddleUp can help you easily upload new files to your Readdle account by dragging-and-dropping them onto the application dock icon or file list. The application is a free and very easy to use. The image to the left shows the available account plans and their respective pricing. A free account offers 50MB of storage with a maximum of 20 Documents/books per account. Readdle says you can upgrade, downgrade or cancel your account any time you wish.

"Due the iPhone file systems access restrictions, there is no possibility to copy files directly to the iPhone. That's why seamless document management is the crucial part of the document reading application. Readdle is unique for providing the number of handy ways to put files on the device," notes Igor Zhadanov, Readdle CEO.

All paid plans include a 15-day free trial. There is no sign-up or termination fee.
