iPhone TV Tuner ESCORT MobileTV Launches in the US

ESCORT Inc., and Dyle Mobile Content Venture (MCV) have launched the ESCORT MobileTV accessory for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices, putting live, local broadcast television on iOS devices via the iDTV app.

The ESCORT MobileTV is basically an ATSC-Mobile tuner with a built-in rechargeable battery that works with Dyle to deliver live TV from supported stations around the United States.

ESCORT says buyers of the $99.95 / €75 accessory can access more than 90 stations in 35 markets.

In the box, buyers will find the ESCORT MobileTV Receiver, an antenna, a USB Charging Cable (Standard to Micro), and a Quick Reference Guide. The hardware is equipped with the old-generation Apple 30-pin connector, making it incompatible with the iPhone 5, iPad mini, and the 4th generation iPad.

As for the iDTV USA app, it’s compatible with iPhone 3GS and up and requires iOS 5.1 or later.
