Tiny-Code is currently working with Apple's software development kit

Last week, almost every tech-based website was talking of Apple's upcoming software development kit for programmers to work with and create nice apps for the iPhone. Apple has also filed to protect its trademark in the meantime, revealing that iPhone users may be in for some heavy gaming activity soon. More recently, Tiny-Code.com have updated their website saying they are working with Apple's SDK, while firmware 1.1.4 is also hinted at.

The first time Apple talked of this software development kit was last year, in October, when Steve Jobs announced their plans to release it in February, 2008. Rumor had it that several developers had already gotten their mitts on the kit, but Apple's lips were sealed shut.

Now that the Cupertino based company has confirmed its plans with the respective SDK, more rumors have emerged, also fed by Apple's filing for protecting its trademark in relation to items and categories concerning "hand-held units for playing video games", "stand alone video game machines" and more.

All signs point to new Apple gaming device, new iTunes categories, new iPhone upgrades/firmware and so on. For those who can't handle all this rumor excitement, the final blow comes from the aforementioned Tiny-Code.com, "an iPhone Installer.app repository for fixes and updates to some unofficial 3rd party iPhone appplications," according to macrumors.com. They now claim that they are working with Apple and the upcoming SDK, posting the following message:

Tiny Code no longer produces fixes or applications for firmware 1.1.3. We can't say much, but we are working with Apple and with their SDK for the next firmware release and SDK applications and we shouldn't be missed for long. We will no longer update our Installer.app repo for legality reasons and you should see us soon on iTunes.

And us dumb ol' boys thought 1.1.4 was just around the corner. Let's hope it's worth the waiting time.
