However, not all Dev Team Blog visitors are pleased with the initiative

The group of internationally known hackers going by the name of “the iPhone Dev Team” has posted an update on its blog, this time simply wishing everyone a Happy Halloween. The infamous team of hackers seldom makes posts that have nothing to do with its PwnageTool jailbreak & unlock solution, or Apple’s latest software updates for iPhone and iPod touch.

And this is one of those rare times when the Dev Team says, “No, this is not a release post! Just wanted to wish iPhone and iPod touch users everywhere a Happy Halloween!” The hackers posted jailbreak-themed imagery combined with Halloween lantern goodness. Sweet, right? Well, not according to a few commenters over at the Team’s blog. Softpedia was astonished to find quite the negative comments on the team’s blog. You’d think that members of the jailbroken community are aware of the fact that they owe gratitude to these people.

We’ve extracted two comments, both of which begin with a “wow,” in sign of great disapproval of the team’s latest activities.

“Wow im [sic] hoping a jailbrake [sic] from you guys and i get pics from hallowen [sic] i dont [sic] think thats rite [sic] anyway i dont [sic] need it nomore [sic] geohotz got it and hes [sic] releasing blacksnow 11/04/09 so be ready its [sic] gonna unlock the new 5.11.07 baseband and need your help to block the guys selling his unlock so pass the word and avoid buying unlock for the new baseband............ any ideas when the new iphone 3gs HD is comming [sic] see you dev team.” OK, that was Dev Team Blog reader joelito1007 and his eight serious spelling errors sounding off in the confusing “parragraff” above. Next up, mo7861, who says, “WOW..great going dvteam, so this is what you have been upto for [sic] the last few weeks.”

Are these two guys friends, or something?

“..People waiting for unlock and you produce a pumpkin..,” mo7861 continues to write with outrage. “GREAT, thanks..nevermind Geos [sic] done the business for all..ENJOY your pumpkin hope they give your brain a boost.”

So, let's see if we've got this right. Is the Dev Team supposed not to enjoy any holiday as long as there’s a jailbreak / unlock pending for a device, or what? Is it not enough that it put hard work into developing the only reliable jailbreak / unlock solutions on the planet, whilst offering them completely free of charge?

And what unlock are we waiting for, anyway?! Because, last time we checked, the team’s tools were ready for pretty much every device model running firmware 3.1.2 (with or without a small catch). People, try posting less negative comments when the situation clearly doesn’t call for it. Better yet, just grow up!
