Similar changes spotted by two separate sources

A video preview of the iPhone OS 4.0 multitasking animation has been uploaded to YouTube, with the tester showing off functions like fast app switching in real time and slow motion. Apple released a second beta of the new iPhone OS and SDK to developers earlier this week. Notable changes have been spotted, including a substantial number of bugs, going by one forum poster’s impressions.

World of Apple now reports its own findings. Although just a few, they are worthy of mentioning here on Softpedia. The site generally responsible for leaking Mac OS X test build changelogs claims that Apple has disabled the screenshot functionality from the latest iPhone beta, therefore was unable to post a screenshot walkthrough of what’s changed in the software.

“Unfortunately the ability for screenshots and images from the camera to go into the camera roll is not functioning (possibly by purpose). Below are some videos and photos of what’s changed in the second beta,” it points out, although all we could find was the video (no photos).

The generally reliable source of information about Apple software adds that, “The second beta labelled build 8A248C carries very few changes and is obviously still in the early stages of testing.” The site then proceeds to enumerate some noteworthy changes, such as:

- Music controls on the lock screen are back (double-press home button); - Visual changes in Game Center; - New app switching animation when multitasking (video below); - Mailboxes in Mail now have icons.”

A person Softpedia quoted yesterday has made even more observations (and in less time). The Modmyi forum user also claims to have noticed the cool transition between app switching, adding that the phone feels “a LOT smoother.” ForumSnoBorderRK outlines what he was able to find in the first hours of usage, starting with a few bugs, and ending with a number of aesthetic improvements.
