iPhone – Lego Batman Holiday Sale Announced

The Warner Bros. have announced that, for a limited time, iPhone and iPod touch users can get Lego Batman: Gotham City Games for just $5.99! The offer runs through the winter Holidays only. Lego Batman: Gotham City Games is a “companion game” to another iPhone title, called LEGO Batman.

The official iTunes App Store description of Lego Batman: Gotham City Games reveals that players are tasked with taking on a variety of challenges featuring both the Heroes and the Villains of Gotham City.

“Throughout Gotham City you will find 16 classic stylized minigames that take you from deep within the heart of Wayne Manor, through the night’s sky piloting the swift LEGO Batwing, and even solve some of The Riddler’s most mind bending puzzles,” the publisher notes. “Each challenge is linked together by a brand new story, shown through beautiful hand-rendered cut scenes, backed by a full orchestral soundtrack,” the Warner Bros. studio says.

A Free play mode has players engaging in longer and more challenging missions. Unlockable stages and games are present, as well as leader boards. Additional bonus content includes artwork, trailers, and wallpapers. Best of all, iPhone and iPod touch users can choose to save the wallpapers in their pictures library. From there, they can access the items and use them as backgrounds.

Lego Batman: Gotham City Games requires an iPhone or an iPod touch running firmware version 2.2, the latest available from Apple. Readers should note that reviewers have rated Lego Batman: Gotham City Games quite low, noting that game modes such as “Batman Boxing” are misleading, while the rest of the mini-games are just too simplistic.
