'Made for iPhone' accesories come pouring in

With most users expecting the iPhone to finally be released, it looks like most companies out there are aiming to make some profit out of it and have already released products that are said to work with Apple's phone. Since the iPhone is not available at the moment, and many details regarding it, like its hardware/software remain unknown, it's quite interesting how those companies can claim that their products are iPhone-compatible or even worse, made specifically for the iPhone.

For example, Gomadic has released a Wireless Bluetooth headset that is said to be ideal for Apple's handset. The headset is available on Amazon right now, it includes Digital Signal Processor Technology and can automatically adjust the volume in a noisy environment.

While presented as a headset made for the iPhone, in reality Gomadic's product is just a Bluetooth headset that will obviously work with any mobile phone including Bluetooth. In fact, if you were to search for iPhone accessories you'd end up finding everything from headsets and cases to books that are meant to explain how the phone works, but haven't even been written yet (for obvious reasons).

Several companies have noticed that by simply adding 'iPhone' to any of their products' names or compatibility list, they would get customers more interested. Apparently, there is also a widget, named 'Scenario Poker' that is said to be compatible with the iPhone and being described as 'designed for the iPhone's touch screen'.

Finally, there really isn't any reason for one to buy any product that was 'made for the iPhone' according to its manufacturers, until the actual release of Apple's handset.
