The famous Digg website received a brand new version that allows the lucky owners of the Apple iPhone to access the latest posts in a matter of seconds. Since iPhone was released, the gadget revolutionized the world because numerous developers and site owners tried to adapt their products to the Apple tool in order to attract more consumers. Kevin Rose, the founder of Digg, announced the debut of Digg iPhone Beta today saying that it was developed in no less than 48 hours.

Among the features of this special Digg version, Kevin Rose mentioned the native iPhone-like story scrolling, the mini permalink pages with top 5 comments, login and the possibility to digg or bury headlines, pagination and jump to any topic capability. In the near future, the developers plan to implement a new feature able to display the top stories for the latest 24 hours and 7 days. The iPhone version of Digg is available even from a normal browser but "you need an iPhone or Safari's Webkit software running to see it working properly."

You're probably asking yourself why you would need a special iPhone version since the Apple device works fine with its built-in browser that allows you to view all kinds of pages.

"Of course, you can still browse the normal Digg website on your iPhone, but this web application is a light and fast way to do it and takes advantage of some of the iPhone user interface. Let us know if you find any bugs. We'll continue tweaking over the next few weeks, but wanted to get it out there asap," Kevin Rose said today.

The iPhone was released on June 29 and since it was officially launched, it recorded huge sales for the Cupertino company. However, the Europeans are still waiting for this revolutionary device, as iPhone is currently available only in the United States.
