Just about every new multimedia device pushed onto the market nowadays is bound to provide iPhone/iPod/iPad docking support, and, to some extent, that's also the case with the particular device you'll read about as follows, namely the Revo AxiS Wireless Internet Radio with iPod Dock, that, beside docking both the iPod and the iPhone, is also capable of tuning-in to the very large number of internet-based radio stations.

According to the manufacturer, the AXiS represents the next generation of "connected" digital radio devices that combine multi-format radio reception, iPod and iPhone docking, audio streaming and access to premium online music services such as Last.fm.

The device is apparently capable of receiving a full range of digital radio standards including DAB, DAB+ and internet radio - as well as conventional FM radio with RDS.

But that's just the beginning of it, since the AXiS will also wirelessly stream digital music files from any "connected" PC or Apple Mac, while in the same time docking the iPod or iPhone, which means that it will be able to play the music stored within their memory and in the same time recharge their batteries.

The compact radio features a 3.5" colour TFT display and is controlled via an icon-driven touchscreen user interface, enabling quick and easy navigation around the radios many features.

And since we've mentioned that this thing is compact, we'll have to back this statement up with a few values, the AXiS measuring 9.1 x 11.4 x 9.4 inches and weighing roughly 3.5 pounds.

Furthermore, despite its small footprint, AXiS boasts impressive audio clarity and bass response, courtesy of its 8W class D amplifier and NXT"s patented Balanced Radiator loudspeaker technology.

Pricing for the Revo AxiS Wireless Internet Radio with iPod Dock is, nevertheless, a bit on the expensive side, the device selling for somewhere in the vicinity of 369.00 US dollars, which is not exactly a very small sum to pay for such a product, all things considered.
