PwnageTool 4.3.3.1 and Redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 are now available for download, according to a blog entry signed iPhone Dev Team this past weekend.

The PwnageTool and Redsn0w apps had already gotten support to jailbreak iOS 4.3.3 firmwares for various devices, but some bugs turned up and they needed immediate fixing.

The Dev Team did just that with new releases - PwnageTool 4.3.3.1 and Resns0w 0.9.6 RC16 - which include a fix for the iPhone3GS and iPhone 4 side switch vibration issue.

“Thanks to @i0n1c for tracking this down (even though he doesn’t even have an iPhone!),” they wrote.

Those employing Redsn0w in particular are being told that this fix is available by simply by running the updated tool over their existing jailbreak.

“If you’re already jailbroken at 4.3.3 (by either redsn0w rc15 or custom IPSW), you can install this fix simply by running redsn0w rc16 over your existing 4.3.3 jailbreak,” the team explains.

Ultrasn0w unlockers are being assured that this hack is safe as it will not update their baseband - “only an iTunes stock IPSW update/restore will do that,” the team outlines.

Finally, the tinkerers enumerate a few more improvements included in the new Redsn0w release.

According to the post, Windows 7 and Vista users should no longer need to set their CPU affinity.

PC users can simply run redsn0w as Administrator in XP compatibility mode now.

Additionally, the team says that the “verbose boot” option for old-bootrom iPhone 3GS handsets has been fixed under the latest firmware. iPhone 3GS units with old bootroms can have custom boot-logos.

Also last week, the Dev Team said they were working on an iPad 2 jailbreak. The iPad 2 remains the only iDevice that isn’t supported by existing jailbreak tools.

Various vulnerabilities are being explored for a potential hack but, so far, there has been little progress on the iPad 2 front.
