This means that MediaMarkt has an agreement with Germany's iPhone carrier

The iPhone has been spotted on the website of a German supermarket, Media Markt. The electronics retailer has advertised Apple's phone as a sure thing to come towards the end of the year in their shops.

The title for the iPhone announcement states that "Touching is Believing", which shows that the retail store has already started the advertising campaign, as if the iPhone has ever been on a shortage of that. Media Markt promises to start sales towards the end of the year, which shows that they must have a signed contract for the rights of Apple's phone distribution. Such an announcement is surely going to stir some waves, so nobody in their right minds would make it before having certainty over it.

The same situation has occurred in England, another country where the iPhone will be available starting this autumn. There, Amazon.co.uk has already found a place for Apple's phone for some time now on the "soon to come" page along with a release date set for the 1st of December.

In the case of Media Markt, this has high chances of being a marketing flick destined to capture the interest of a large number of people over their current offer. They might have succeeded, if considering the fuss that this announcement has created. The iPhone arriving at a supermarket known for its low prices is something quite unusual and unlikely to happen.

Still, if that proves to be true, it means that the carrier which will bring the iPhone in Germany has already closed negotiations with Apple and has moved on to make its own deals with shops where to have the smartphone sold. Up to this point, no carriers across Europe have acknowledged to be the ones to offer the iPhone, although there are strong beliefs that T-Mobile will do this in Germany, O2 in the UK and Orange in France.
