Dutch designer revisits old iPhone 6 concept, slaps gold and iOS 7 onto it

The iPhone 5s hasn’t even launched properly and people are already dreaming of the next-generation iPhone 6 or, as designers believe it might be called, iPhone Air.

The first to take a stab at the iPhone Air design was Federico Ciccarese, who handed me a trio of images last week depicting what is arguably one of his best works yet. The images showed only the front of the so-called iPhone Air, so I urged him to envision the back of the phone as well.

As Federico works on his concept, another designer named Martin Hajek, who is just as famous for his iDevice mockups, has revisited an older iPhone 6 concept of his to add a gold finish to the chassis and iOS 7 to the Home screen.

Hajek’s concept looks a lot like one of Samsung’s S-series of smartphones, so I’m pretty sure Apple won’t end up with a design quite like it. But as a concept, it’s pretty darn gorgeous, you have to agree. Especially when viewed from the back (gallery below).
