More and more Apple services are experiencing outages

Amid the widely reported Apple server breach this week, iPhone users are now experiencing issues trying to activate their iPhones with Apple.

Numerous customers are reporting problems when trying to activate their new iPhones, with one such user posting the screenshot displayed above as evidence.

Apple is telling users, “Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes.”

Users who cannot activate their iPhone in any way are encouraged to contact Apple Support at apple.com/support.

It isn’t clear whether the iTunes tip helps, since this method also involves communicating with Apple’s servers, which are experiencing outages all over the place.

Just minutes ago I reported that Apple’s Dev Center Status Page was down, in a somewhat ironical twist (since the page has been set up by Apple to monitor the very outage I mentioned above).
