What if Apple ported some Apple Watch elements to the phone?

Apple is currently preparing new iPhone models due for release later in 2015. And we already have tons of rumors related to the upcoming models on our hands to sort through.

For example, the rumor mill can’t agree about the nomenclature Apple will adopt this year. Are we going to see the iPhone 6s or the iPhone 7 make a debut on the market? According to respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a pretty accurate track record, the latter name is more likely to be chosen.

Anyway, while we wait for Apple to make the big announcement, designers have taken the opportunity to do what they do best - imagine what the upcoming phone will look like.

Antonio De Rosa seems to have been particularly taken by the design of the newly released Apple Watch, so he embedded one of the key aspects of the Watch into his vision of the upcoming iPhone 7.

Would you buy such an iPhone?

As you can see for yourselves in the gallery and video below, De Rosa’s iPhone7 comes with an interesting crown button on the side.

Nevertheless, some iPhone enthusiasts might point out that the Digital Crown is a bit too big and obvious. The extra button is placed above the On/Off switcher, and because of its integration, the designer had to renounce the Home button altogether.

There are dots located below the screen which act as the Sense Button, which is reportedly capable of picking up gestures and movements.

The concept sees the iPhone 7 as having a Retina HD+ screen with 2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution, on par with all the flagships launched these days.

Under the hood lies an A9 chip, which we already know will be manufactured by Samsung. But the main point of attraction remains the crown button which has been made to work as the Home button and Touch ID sensor.

We’re also told that the iPhone 7 will get thinner, coming with a 6.9 mm / 0.27 inch profile, and that Apple might take up aluminum, ceramic and glass for the creation of its next smartphone.

The phone we see in the renders boasts a 5.5-inch display, so we might just call it the iPhone 7 Plus. It’s said to be available in three distinct colors.

This year, Apple is expected to launch two iPhone models, one with a 4.7-inch display and one with a 5.5-inch screen. There have been rumors that the Cupertino tech giant might be looking to revive its 2013 iPhone 5c model with a new version, but according to sources familiar with the matter, such a scenario is unlikely to happen.
